LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Football team makes another appearance on national television on Saturday when it faces Sun Belt Conference opponent Georgia State in the annual Homecoming Game at Cajun Field.
Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. The game will be televised live on ESPNU with Courtney Lyle (pxp) and Hutson Mason (analyst) providing the commentary.
Fans in the Lafayette area can listen to the call of Jay Walker (pxp), Gerald Broussard (analyst) and Cody Junot (sideline) on Hot 107.9 FM, 103.3 The Goat, KPEL 1420 AM or worldwide on the Varsity Network app.
Louisiana (4-2, 1-1 SBC) returns to the field for the first time since a dramatic 34-30 win over Texas State on Oct. 7. Redshirt freshman Zeon Chriss tossed a season-high three touchdown passes for the Ragin’ Cajuns and scored the eventual game-winner on an 8-yard run with 2:21 remaining.
Dalen Cambre’s blocked punt in the fourth quarter set up the eventual game-winner while K.C. Ossai posted a season-high nine tackles while forcing a late fumble to help Louisiana secure the win.
GSU (5-1, 2-1 SBC) opened the season with four consecutive victories before falling against Troy on Sept. 30. The Panthers, off to their best start in program history, bounced back with a convincing 41-24 win over Marshall last week in Atlanta behind 159 yards on the ground from Marcus Carroll.
