Church honored with Azalea Garden Club October honor

- Msgr. J. Robert Romero, Pastor of Our Lady of Nativity Catholic Church, takes a special interest in the selection of the flowering plants for the landscape which include angelonia, pentas, vincas, marigolds, coleus, foxtail ferns, canna lilies, and agapanthus. The landscape includes magnolia and crepe myrtle trees and various shrubs and bushes including boxwood, sunshine ligustrum, roses, hibiscus, hydrangea, and azalea.
Azalea Garden Club awarded the Iberia Beautification Sign for October to the Church grounds of Our Lady of Nativity Catholic Church at 130 N. Richelieu Circle.

The landscape includes magnolia and crepe myrtle trees and various shrubs and bushes including boxwood, sunshine ligustrum, roses, hibiscus, hydrangea, and azalea.
Although plants are located throughout the grounds, the areas in front of the Church and the mausoleum behind the Church are especially decorated.
There is also The Shepherd’s Garden, a meditation garden dedicated in honor of Jesus Christ the Good Shepherd in memory of former pastors of the Church.
Azalea is a member of District III, Louisiana Garden Clubs Inc., Deep South Garden Clubs, Inc., and National Garden Clubs.
