Longtime Arc of Acadiana CEO Kenny Patton is retiring and current COO Cindy Leleux set to take the reins as Chief Executive Officer.

Patton has served as CEO of the organization for 48 years, with a focus on providing leadership

and support to people with physical and developmental disabilities throughout Acadiana.

His life’s work has been to ensure each of Arc’s clients are treated with dignity and respect. Over the past five decades, Patton has led with the belief that each person deserves their best chance to succeed.

“It has been an honor and a privilege to serve at the helm of Arc of Acadiana. I have always believed that each person deserves to be the best that they can be and I hope I have been able to make a difference in people’s lives. I will dearly miss this organization but I know it is in capable hands,” Patton said.

Incoming CEO Leleux worked with Arc of Acadiana for 28 years, serving the last 15 as Chief Operations Officer. She said she plans to carry on Patton’s legacy of improving the lives of people with disabilities by taking a hands-on leadership approach. Leleux earned a Master’s Degree in Gerontology from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, as well as a BS degree from the University of Alabama.

“I am truly honored and excited to step into the role of Chief Executive Officer at Arc of Acadiana, an organization that has been an integral part of my life for the past 28 years. Our shared mission to create an inclusive and empowering environment for all individuals is not just a goal but a lifelong commitment. I firmly believe that the key to achieving this begins with a hands-on leadership approach, working closely with our dedicated team. Together, we will continue to drive our mission forward, making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve,” Leleux said.
