The Better Business Bureau recently awarded Gridic Electrical Services of New Iberia their 2023 Torch Awards for Ethics.

According to the BBB’s website, the Torch Awards for Ethics honor businesses and nonprofits for putting integrity into action. These awards are made possible by the BBB Education Foundation.

Located at 3604 Commercial Dr, Gridic Electrical Services of New Iberia started in 2020 by Jonas Hebert, who serves as the company’s president. The company is a full service electric contractor, specializing in residential, commercial and industrial electrical work.

“We build new homes, new construction, commercial buildings,” Hebert said. “We go every day to produce a product that we can be proud of.”

Since its start, Gridic Electrical Services has transformed into one of the premiere businesses in New Iberia, and they continue to grow.

“In the last three years, we have grown into a work force of 35 employees,” Hebert said.

Even though Gridic Electrical Services of New Iberia is a relatively new company, it hasn’t stopped them from earning them their first Torch Awards for Ethics from the BBB.

There are four different criterias that are considered for the Torch Awards for Ethics.

The nominees are judged on character, culture, customer service and community engagement within your company.

A businesses’ customer has to nominate a deserving company for the award, Hebert said, adding the award was a great honor for him and his company.

“It’s not often that I am speechless, but I was speechless, based on the fact that is a high achievement,” Hebert said. “It really sets you apart in the industry you are in. If you can foster a good work culture for your employers, they are buying into everything that you are trying to achieve, and that is a testament to your character.”

The achievement is something Hebert and Gridic Electrical Services of New Iberia do not take for granted. Their mission is to build a more personable relationship with their customers so they know what they are trying to achieve.

Their mission is to also find the most cost-effective methods. These methods have helped them in earning respect from their customers and the BBB.

“We listen,” Hebert said. “We ask the right questions and find out what they are looking for.”

Hebert said he and Gridic Electrical Services use every day as an opportunity for their employees. Their goal is to hire someone who will leave not only a better person, but a better electrician.

“We invest in every employer that we have,” Hebert said, adding, “Through leadership training, trade, skills training and team building.”

This vision has led to continued success for his various companies, including his newest endeavor, the Main Cup in Loreauville.

“That is the motto that I lead by,” Hebert said.
