Southern Constructors began repairs to the southbound lane of Victory Drive between Trotter Street and Angers Street. The road will remain under construction until Nov. 26.

Road construction on Victory Drive is ongoing in New Iberia for the next two months, according to the City of New Iberia.

Repairs began on Nov. 15 with Southern Constructors repairing the southbound lane of Victory Drive between Loreauville Road and Myra Street.

On Nov. 17, Southern Constructors began repairs to the southbound lane of Victory Drive between Trotter Street and Angers Street. The road will remain under construction until Nov. 26.

Following the Thanksgiving holiday, Victory Drive between Trotter Street and Loreauville Road will be under construction in sections for approximately two months, weather permitting.

During construction it may be necessary at times to limit access to the construction area with a road closure and detour traffic. Road closure signs, barricades and detour signs will be in place to warn and direct traffic.

Residents and drivers should anticipate time delays. The streets at times will have loose gravel and mud on the roadway.

The City of New Iberia appreciates your patience during construction. If possible, please avoid these construction areas. Drive with caution and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
