A Mass of Christian burial for Clement “Ting Ting” Landry Sr. was held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at St. Edward Catholic Church, 175 Ambassador W. Lemelle Drive, New Iberia. Pastor Donald Bernard was the celebrant.

The family was greeted at his visitation from 9 a.m. until time of the service on Wednesday with the recitation of the Rosary at 9:30 a.m. and VFW rites following at the church.

A military honored interment will follow at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 16, 2023, at Holy Family Mausoleum. Military honors will follow by Fort Polk U.S. Army honor guard.

Clement was born on Tuesday, February 23, 1937, to the union of the late Robley Landry Sr. and Daisy Williams Landry in New Iberia. He was baptized, attended school and was a life-long member of St. Edward Catholic Church and School. He worked for many years as a truck driver. He was also a skilled employee in the oil and gas industry. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was “Honorably” discharged. He was also a member of the New Iberia VFW Post 12065 for many years where he received a recognition award. He was probably the New Orleans Saints number one fan in New Iberia. “Ting Ting”, Papa, or whatever you knew him as was a fun free spirit man. He was an avid landscaper of his own yard at least three or four times a week. He also used to like playing golf. Later he just watched it on TV along with other sports and westerns. He enjoyed family and friends by having family gatherings. He loved to play music and dance. One of his favorite pastimes was talking to people about their life and giving advice. Clement peacefully transitioned to eternal rest on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, in Lafayette, following a brief illness.

Clement leaves to celebrate his life and cherish precious memories his wife of 63 years Dorothy Brooks-Landry of New Iberia; one daughter, Swonnettia James; six sons, Clement (Erica) Landry Jr., Troy (Sabrina) Landry, Kenneth (Debra) Landry, Bryant (Lillie) Landry and Terry Stokes, all of New Iberia and Terry (Stacy) Landry of Delcambre; five siblings, Edna Nix and Ethel Ware, both of Altadena, California, Marie Tauriac of Eunice, Edward (Unella) Landry of St. Martinville and John (Marshall) Landry of Barstow, California; one aunt, Rita Sims of Houston, Texas; thirty-five grandchildren; sixty-nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and two god-daughters; as well as a his nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by three siblings, Robley Landry Jr., Martin Landry and Catherine Landry; a son-in-law Ricky James; his father-in-law and mother in-law Wilson and Leetha Brooks and three great-grandkids.
