A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted for Anthony Donald Sigue, 88, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Lydia with Fr. Randy Courville as celebrant. Entombment will follow at St. Nicholas Mausoleum in Patoutville.
Visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. until the time of services with a recitation of the Rosary by Eugene Olivier at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at David Funeral Home of New Iberia.
Anthony Donald “Pop” Sigue, 88, was born and raised in Grand Marais on November 11, 1935, to Joseph Sigue Sr. and Agnes Olivier Sigue. He peacefully laid to his final rest on December 23, 2023. Donald’s early years were spent on the family sugar cane farm with his father and four brothers. Some of his accomplishments included being a part of several committee boards. He also served in many organizations throughout his life. Alongside his personal accomplishments, for 23 years Donald spent the majority of his time alongside Pam and her children from Arizona to Texas. While on this earth Donald got to enjoy the fruits of his legacy in welcoming five generations of his bloodline.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his children Anthony Larry “Tony” Sigue, John Craig Sigue (Amarillis Sigue) and Pamela Sigue Moon; 11 grandchildren, Channell Sigue DeRouen, Yvette O’Neal, Kallye Sigue, Amber Jolie Horn, Chris Sigue, Dylan Sigue, Justin Sigue, Aron Sigue, Alon Moon, Bailye Moon and Darius Moon; 10 great-grandchildren, Brailyn Jolivette, Meghan Jolivette, Jordan DeRouen, Hannah Crain, Gamar Crain II, Kamila Sigue, Maiara A. Rodriguez Hernandez, Noah Sigue, Javon Joya, Cason Anthony Sigue, Lailah Sigue and Jace Sigue; and one great-great-grandchild, Julian Arceneaux; a brother Joseph Sigue Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ella Louise Vallot Sigue; his parents Joseph Sigue Sr. and Agnes Olivier Sigue; a son Stephen Mark Sigue; and three brothers, Warren Sigue, Roland Sigue, Lurry Sigue.
His memory will forever be treasured by those who were graced with his love, comedic nature and lively spirit.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Christopher Donald Sigue, Dylan Stephen Sigue, Justin Craig Sigue, Aron Jon Sigue, Jordan Thomas DeRouen and Darius Weldon Moon.
The family would like to thank Dr. Gerard Fitzgerald Sigue for his care of Anthony.
