A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2024, for Jeanette Delahoussaye Conrad at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Jeanette was 86 when she entered eternal rest on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Camelot of Broussard.

The family requests that visitation be observed from 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church.

Burial will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery following the Mass.

Rev. William C. Blanda will be the celebrant for the Funeral Mass.

Jeanette began her educational journey at New Iberia Senior High, where she developed a strong foundation for her future endeavors. In 1955 she proudly graduated, marking the beginning of a life filled with compassion, dedication and love.

In the late 1950s Jeanette moved to Lafayette, making it her home until the time of her passing. She initially worked for the Louisiana State Welfare Department upon her arrival in Lafayette, dedicating herself to public service until 1968. She then took some time to stay at home, devoting herself to raising her three boys. Later she embarked on a successful career in real estate, dedicating over 40 years of service to Van Eaton and Romero, where her passion for helping others truly shone.

Jeanette was a devout Catholic, finding solace and strength in her faith throughout her life. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose warmth and kindness touched the hearts of all who knew her. Her friends were countless, a testament to her friendly and welcoming nature.

Known for her kindheartedness and selflessness, Jeanette had a gentle personality that made her a pleasure to be around. Her words were always filled with kindness and a simple conversation with her could brighten anyone’s day. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion and joy.

Survivors include her three sons, Michael Conrad of Lafayette, Phil Conrad of Broussard and Jeff Conrad of Baton Rouge; seven grandchildren, Grant Conrad and his wife Jessi of Carl Junction, Missouri, Jace Conrad and his wife Alex of Lafayette, Brenn Conrad of Lafayette, Madi Conrad of Broussard, Ella Conrad of Broussard, Aaron Conrad and his wife Janie of Lake Charles and Lauren Conrad Daigle and her husband Mathew of Lake Charles; four great-grandchildren, Jax Conrad, Scarlett Conrad, Saylor Conrad and Emma Jane Conrad; and two special nieces, Brenda Durand of New Iberia and Annelle Keller of Lafayette.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by the father of her three children Kerry Louis Conrad; her sister Myrna Delahoussaye Dartez; and two brothers, Cleveland Delahoussaye Jr. and Danny Delahoussaye.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Michael Conrad, Phil Conrad, Jeff Conrad, Jace Conrad, Brenn Conrad and Aaron Conrad.

The Conrad family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff of Camelot of Broussard and Hospice of Acadiana for their professional care and unwavering support during Jeanette’s final days. A special acknowledgment goes to Ms. Brenda Martin for her tireless dedication, love, generosity and care extended to Jeanette when needed. The family acknowledges that her contributions can never be repaid and will forever be remembered with deep appreciation.
