A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Our Savior’s Church in Broussard for Dennie Ray Kinsey, 70, who passed away peacefully on Friday, February 9, 2024, at The Carpenter House in Lafayette.

Dennie was born on October 8, 1953, in Lake Charles to Weldon Emmanuel Kinsey and Hazel McMills Kinsey. On May 11, 1973, after five years of dating, Dennie married the love of his life Bonnie Delcambre. Dennie started his pest control business in 1982 and loved nothing more than his regular visits with his customers who throughout the years had become friends and extended family. In 1981 Dennie and Bonnie had their first child Jesse and in 1988 came their second child Chelsea. Dennie loved his family. He poured his entire life into his wife and children, making sure that they were taken care of until the very end. He was larger than life and his huge personality and smile will be greatly missed, along with his fudge and first place ribs. He leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love, compassion and selflessness.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 51 years Bonnie Kinsey; children Jesse and Chelsea Kinsey; grandchildren Cameron, Mali, Vayda, Maddie and Riley; sisters Donna Defelice (Kenny) and Phyllis Howard (John); brother-in-law Larry Morgan; mother and father-in-law Mildred and Marnel Delcambre; numerous nieces and nephews; many close friends and a “bonus daughter” Mary Edley Moore and two “bonus grandkids” Madelyn Moore and Audrey Moore.

He was preceded in death by his parents Weldon and Hazel Kinsey; and siblings Weldon Kinsey and Linda Morgan.

We ask that you take a moment to hug your parents, children, grandchildren or a friend; enjoy a beautiful sunset or the smell of a fresh cut rose. Time waits for no one.
