Crime Stoppers celebrates sponsors with event at the Bazus

The Iberia Crime Stoppers held the “Leap of Faith” event to celebrate the different sponsors of the Iberia Crime Stoppers Award Banquet at the Bazus Tuesday morning.

Beyond just recognizing the businesses that provided a service for the Crime Stoppers Banquet, the event also announced that First Bank of Jeanerette will serve as the primary sponsor for next year’s banquet.

It also featured the SelfieBot, a remote control robot that takes pictures of partygoers. According to Iberia Crime Stoppers Board Vice President Marti Harrell, this SelfieBot will serve as a mainstay feature of future Crime Stoppers banquets.

Courtland Porter and Claudia Morgan, owners of the Bazus, offered it as a meeting place for the event in support of Iberia Crime Stoppers.

The event highlighted multiple notable sponsors, including Coca Cola, First National Bank of Jeanerette, Cane River Pecan Company, Church Alley Cafe and Bistro, the Main Cup and NISH Baseball.

It also featured multiple figures from Jeanerette and New Iberia including Jeanerette City Mayor Carol Bourgeois, Jeanerette Police Chief Dusty Vallot, and Jeanerette Iberia Crime Stoppers Officer of the Year Lisa Wiles.

McDonalds provided food and beverages for the event, including coffee and breakfast sandwiches.
