Sewer maintenance agreement up for vote by council

The New Iberia City Council will vote to approve an ordinance authorizing a maintenance and operation services agreement with Iberia Parish Sewerage District 1 and Statewide Electrical Services at Tuesday’s meeting.
The council will also vote to grant Centerpoint Energy the right to construct, install, operate and maintain facilities for the transportation, distribution and sale of gas in New Iberia and to use and excavate in the public highways, streets and sidewalks for that purpose.
A resolution awarding a contract to Glen Lege Construction for the New Iberia Asphalt Sealing Project is on the agenda to be voted on as well.
A contract for services between the city and Planet Recess for additional playground equipment at Santiago Park in District 1 will also be discussed and voted on at the meeting.
Another contract to execute an agreement between the city and Hahn Enterprises for West End Park fitness equipment will be discussed and voted on at the meeting.
In other business, a resolution for the 2023 Louisiana Community Development Block Grant Clearance Demolition Program Management will be taken up by the council.
An ordinance authorizing the mayor to negotiate and execute an agreement by and between the City of New Iberia and the Fusus Unified Intelligence Platform for use and access to Fusus products and services will be voted on as an introductory ordinance.
The meeting takes place 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at New Iberia City Hall.
