A Mass of Christian burial was held for Thomas Comeaux, 83, on Monday, March 11, 2024, at 2 p.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Fr. Nathan Comeaux was the officiant. Mr. Comeaux was laid to rest at Holy Family Cemetery.

Thomas was born on July 1, 1940, in New Iberia, to the late Rufus Joseph and Aspasie Robicheaux Comeaux. He was raised with a strong sense of duty and discipline, values that would shape his life profoundly. He proudly served his country in the Army and was stationed in Germany, where he exemplified honor and commitment to his duties.

He passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Consolata Nursing Home.

He was employed at Iberia Office Supply and retired after more than 20 years of service.

Thomas was a man of routine and order, insisting that everyone gather to watch the 6 p.m. news, a habit he held dear throughout his life. Despite his disciplined nature, he also had a softer side, finding joy in hobbies such as assembling model airplanes and solving crossword puzzles and word searches.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and had a love of cats.

Those left to cherish his memory are his brother-in-law Henry Kracke Sr.; his niece Pauline K. Guillotte and husband Jeremy; nephews Henry Kracke Jr., Peter Kracke and wife Swanette and Thomas Kracke and wife Brandi; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Roseann Comeaux Kracke.

Members of the family were honored to serve as pallbearers.
