JEANERETTE—A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted for Elizabeth “Liz” A. Hebert, 72, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Fr. Alexander Albert as celebrant. Entombment will follow at St. John the Evangelist Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2024, and will resume from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2024. A Rosary will be prayed in the funeral home at 6 p.m. on Friday evening.

Elizabeth “Liz” Hebert, a cherished mother, grandmother and friend, peacefully departed this life on Monday, May 13, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Known for her profound appreciation of life’s simple joys, Liz lived a life rich in love and devotion to her family. She was the epitome of warmth and kindness, her unwavering love leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Liz’s commitment to her family was unparalleled, her children and grandchildren holding a special place in her heart. For 53 years she shared an enduring bond with her beloved husband Tommy, a testament to the enduring power of love and companionship.

In the hearts of those she leaves behind, Liz’s memory will forever remain a beacon of love, compassion and joy. Her legacy of selflessness and unwavering devotion to family will continue to inspire and uplift those who were touched by her presence. Though she may have bid farewell to this world, Liz’s spirit lives on in the countless lives she touched, her memory a source of comfort and solace for all who were blessed to have known her.

Liz is survived by her husband of 53 years Tommy Hebert; her children Tommy Frederick (Cathy), Chantel Gaudet (Larry), Drew Hebert (Alexus); grandchildren Courtney Derise (Chase), Devin Gaudet (Madison), Kayla Gaudet (Jordy), Brayton Hebert, Drew Elizabeth Hebert, Brinley Hebert, Chelsey Amy (Bo), Karmyn Amy, Nova Amy, Gray Amy, Madison Amy, Scarlett Olander, Farrah Olander (Thomas), Tucker Olander, Aubry Olander, Mia Freeman, Carson Freeman; great-grandchildren Gabe, Luke, Jett, Grace, Paisley, Harper; siblings Jimmy Leonard (Denise), Marylin Derise, Veronica Segura (Randy), Tammy Romero (Mike); and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jimmy and Anna Mae Guillotte Leonard; one great-grandchild, Brilynn Gaudet; stepfather Gerald Hebert; one sister, Clara Leonard.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Tommy Frederick, Drew Hebert, Larry Gaudet, Devin Gaudet, Brayton Hebert, Randy Segura Jr.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Kayla Gaudet, Drew Elizabeth Hebert, Courtney Derise, Brinley Hebert, Paisley Martin, Gabe Bergeron, Jett Bergeron, Grace Tourne, Luke Derise, Harper Derise, Jimmy Leonard, Terry Derise, Jordy Tourne.

The family would like to thank to her special niece Amanda Jakabffy, Iberia Medical Staff, Sherry Ann and Acadian Ambulance crew Megan and Gavin.
