- Troop 133 celebrates rank increases, merit badges and new leadership positions at the Court of Honor ceremony Tuesday.
The Boy Scouts of America Troop 133 hosted a Court of Honor Tuesday, issuing merit badges, rank and title promotions and a life-saving award to Teche Area scouts.
Jacob Baudoin and Luke Salsman were the latest scouts to earn the rank of Eagle Scout. Landon Morgerman advanced to Life rank, while Nicholas Dronet joined Morgerman at the Star rank. Nicholas Dronet and Silar Landry earned the First Class rank, Elyjah Brignac, Garrett Brignac and Nathan Hoang earned the Second Class rank, and Caelen Peltier earned the rank of Scout and Tenderfoot. Hollis Daigle, Roman Bourque and Wyatt Demarcy make Scout rank as well.
Michael Jenkins with the Evangeline Area Council awarded Hollis Daigle with the Boy Scouts of America Certificate of Merit for his life-saving actions. Daigle, noticing his young cousin, Malli Pratt, unresponsive in a swimming pool, quickly alerted Pratt’s mother to her condition. His quick thinking and scouting skills led to an early intervention and Pratt’s eventual recovery.
Temur Ali was named the newest Senior Patrol Leader for Troop 133, replacing Jeremy Diaz. Ali also earned membership in the Order of the Arrow.
Caelen Peltier was awarded for his accomplishments in the BSA Mile Swim and received an Interpreter Strip for his proficiency in French.
Ian Barras, Nathan Hoang, Caelen Peltier, Teresa Harrington, Seth Landry, Paul Hoang and Cory Peltier were awarded with a commemorative neckerchief holder following their participation in the 2024 Avery Island Bamboo Clean-up/Conservation project.
Additionally, several scouts were awarded merit badges for their accomplishments, including Citizenship, Pioneering, Sculpture, Welding, Backpacking, Camping, Space Exploration and more.
