A native of Raceland and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Bourgeois passed away at 8:36 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Mr. Huey Bourgeois was a man of many talents and passions. He was a great cook who loved to socialize and a dedicated member of the Creole Order of Gourmet Chefs. He was also an active member of the boat club and spent his weekend mornings playing pool at the VFW club. Mr. Bourgeois’ life was a rich tapestry of service, community involvement and a deep love for the simple joys of life.
