Patrice Owens Dupuis

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 22, 2024, at Pellerin Funeral Home, for Patrice Owens Dupuis, 69, who passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024.

Interment will follow in Beau Pre Cemetery in Jeanerette.

Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. Monday, at Pellerin Funeral Home.

Pastor Don Norman will officiate.

A longtime resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Dupuis was born on April 13, 1955, in Corona, California, to the late Eben Lowell Owens and Marilyn Cecelia Petterborg Owens.

She proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at the Naval Hospital in Pensacola, Florida. After her service in the Navy she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing. During her career as a Registered Nurse Mrs. Dupuis worked in the Neonatal ICU at Women and Children’s Hospital, Iberia Medical Center ICU, and the New Iberia Surgical Center.

Mrs. Dupuis was a devout Christian who had a very strong faith and loved serving God. She was very active in many areas of her church, Assembly of God Church of New Iberia, which is now Our Savior’s Church. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, beading, but most of all spending time with her precious grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 45 years Ricky James Dupuis; sons Joel Eben Dupuis (Danielle), Jonathan Fredrick Dupuis (Ashley), James Patrick Dupuis (Jennifer) and Paul David Dupuis; grandchildren Julian Lutz, Trinity Dupuis, Dominique Lutz, Julia Dupuis, Reid Dupuis, Luke Dupuis, Adoniram Dupuis and Charles Dupuis; sisters Karen Austin (Wayne Baker) and Susan Griffin; stepsisters Carol Luthra, Margaret Yamasaki and Catherine Hull.

She was preceded in death by her father Eben Lowell Owens; mother Marilyn Hull and her husband Dr. John Hull.
