Moore’s Soul Food Café has been serving up delicious, authentic soul food for nearly two decades.
Founded in July 2006 by Albert Moore Jr., Moore’s Soul Food Café was born out of a passion for cooking and a love for the community. Moore Jr. dedicated himself to providing the people of New Iberia with hearty, home-cooked meals that resonate with the rich culinary traditions of Louisiana.
“When I opened Moore’s Soul Food Café, my vision was simple: to create a place where the community could come together over a shared love for soul food,” Moore said. “Our passion and love for cooking, along with our commitment to serving the community, is what drives us every single day.”
Moore’s has been a staple in New Iberia, serving lunch daily with a menu that celebrates the heart and soul of Southern cooking.
The café’s offerings include classic soul food dishes such as fried chicken, collard greens, cornbread, gumbo, jambalaya, and much more.
Each dish is crafted with care, using recipes that have been passed down through generations, ensuring an authentic taste that keeps customers coming back for more.
As Moore’s approaches its 20th anniversary, Moore reflects on the café’s journey and looks forward to the future.
“Our goal is to continue serving our community and the entire state of Louisiana with some of the best soul food around,” Moore said. “We’re committed to preserving the culinary heritage of the South while also exploring new flavors and ideas to keep our menu exciting and fresh.”
Moore’s Soul Food Café has consistently shown its dedication to the New Iberia community, not just through its food but through various community initiatives and support. Moore believes in giving back and often collaborates with local organizations and charities to support those in need.
“Our community has supported us for almost 20 years, and it’s important for us to give back,” Moore said. “Whether it’s through food donations, sponsoring local events, or other initiatives, we want to contribute positively to the place that has given us so much.”
