A memorial service will be conducted for Earl S. Robicheaux Jr., 68, at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at David Funeral Home Chapel with Monsignor Robert Romero as celebrant.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. A Rosary will be prayed at 12:15 p.m. at the funeral home.
Earl S. Robicheaux Jr., 68, passed away peacefully at his residence in New Iberia on Thursday, August 15, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. Earl was a devoted family man who cherished the time spent with his children and grandchildren, always making it a point to support their endeavors and cheer them on, particularly in sports. He was happily married to his wife Debra Racca Robicheaux for 49 years and together they raised three children. His love for family extended beyond his immediate household, as he was also a beloved grandfather who rarely missed a sporting event involving his grandchildren. Earl’s presence in the stands was a testament to his unwavering support and encouragement.
An avid fan of football, Earl passionately supported his two favorite teams, the LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints. He also enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, like spending time with his little dog Tiger and indulging in his favorite pastime – fishing. Earl’s passion for fishing was unparalleled; he found joy and relaxation by the water, always looking forward to the next big catch. His fishing trips often culminated in delightful fish fries with his catch, creating cherished memories with family and friends. Earl’s warm spirit and love for the outdoors will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Earl Robicheaux is survived by his wife of 49 years Debra Racca Robicheaux of New Iberia; three children, Nicole Delahoussaye (David) of Loreauville, Earl S. Robicheaux III (Dusti) of Delcambre, Kyle Robicheaux (Lyrical) of New Iberia; four grandchildren, Juliana Delahoussaye, Jordyn Delahoussaye, Gabrielle Robicheaux, Earl “Stephen” Robicheaux IV; stepmother Barbara Migues; siblings Linda Pontiff, Karen Ashton, Beth Romero, Robyn Delcambre, Tracy Martin, Mark Robicheaux and Timmy Robicheaux.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Kayla Robicheaux; parents Earl S. Sr. and Shirley Landry Robicheaux; siblings Charles Robicheaux and Patricia Robicheaux.
The family would like to thank the staff of Heart of Hospice for all the kindness they shared with their family during this trying time.
