Painting for Daspit Elementary, St. Charles Elementary, Pesson Elementary, New Iberia Senior High, Westgate High School, Loreauville High School and Delcambre High School will all be considered as part of the recommendation, along with communication upgrades district wide.

An HVAC upgrade at Pesson, flooring upgrades, a new cooling tower at New Iberia Senior High, HVAC upgrades at various schools and camera upgrades for the district are all part of the ESSER funds that were used during the summer to upgrade the Iberia Parish School District.

In other business, the board will consider a recommendation to reclassify and amend the job description for the supervisor of transportation. The job will be renamed manager of transportation.

Superintendent of Schools Heath Hulin said in a memo to the board that after having reviewed the job over the past several weeks, he concluded that the position requires skills that a manager, not a supervisor, must possess.

The board will also consider a recommendation to postpone the 2026 school board elections and take appropriate action, as recommended by board member Dana Dugas.

The meeting takes place at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the district office on Jane Street.
