New Iberia– Funeral services will be conducted for S.O. LeBlanc, 91, on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 1:00PM at David Funeral Home of New Iberia with Father Keith Landry officiating. Entombment and Military Honors will follow at St. Nicholas Mausoleum in Patoutville.

Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of New Iberia on Thursday, September 26, 2024, from 9:00AM until the time of service with a Rosary at 12:30PM.

A native of Jeanerette, Mr. LeBlanc passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 10:00PM at his residence in Jeanerette surrounded by his family. S.O. was born on May 21, 1933, to Willie LeBlanc and Noemie Myers LeBlanc.

Known for being somewhat canaille, he cherished the simple things in life. His passion was his yearly large vegetable garden and always shared the fruits of his labor with family and friends. He also enjoyed hunting rabbits and doves with his friends and family. He enjoyed eating ice cream with his grandson Joshua every time he visited. He had a big heart and never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, especially his family. He loved watching football and going fishing with his beloved wife Mable. They also enjoyed fishing for sacalait with their son-in-law Michael White in his boat. S.O. and Mable enjoyed going to the casino and taking cruises with friends. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war and worked at Estate of William G Helis Oilfield as a pumper working his way up to a boss until his retirement at 62.

He is survived by his daughters; Rachel L. Tenney of New Iberia and Charmaine White and her husband Michael of Jeanerette; much loved one and only grandson; Joshua Tenney of St. Martinville; brothers; Perry (Carmel) and Wilson (Betty) LeBlanc; numerous nieces and nephews; friends; Sherleen Aucoin and Leffery Flores; his godchildren; Lisa Hebert, Wilson LeBlanc Jr., Candice Comeaux, and Laura Mancuso; and his life long friend and former coworker; Donnie White.

He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife of 55 years Mable M. LeBlanc; his parents Willie and Noemie Myers LeBlanc; brothers; Lennet, Eastin, Lincoln, and William LeBlanc; sisters; Euphemie Hebert, Luna Aucoin, and Susie Kennedy.

Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Joshua Tenney, David LeBlanc, Wilson LeBlanc Jr., Lincoln LeBlanc, Roger Hebert, and Jason Foster.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael White, Wilson LeBlanc Sr., Rudy Hebert, Jerry Boudreaux, and Donnie White.

The family would like to give special thanks to IMC, Dr, Jose Mata and his nurse Karen, Hospice of Acadiana and the most wonderful and loving sitters ever Trula Coleman, Connie S., and Latoya Savoy for their extraordinary care and compassion.
