The Louisiana Sugar Cane Festival wrapped up its long list of events Sunday with a presentation of this year’s new royalty and even some notable state officials in downtown New Iberia.
The Royalty Parade, which features royalty from the Louisiana Sugar Cane Festival along with other pageant royalty from events around the state, rolled through Main Street as one of the closing events for this year’s festival celebrating the sugar industry in the state of Louisiana.
Those participating included Queen Sugar LXXX Kami Hymel and King Sucrose LXXXI Bryan Harang; Festival Honoree Kristi Blanchard; Parade Grand Marshal Gov. Jeff Landry and First Landry Sharon Landry and Mr. Iberia James Stein.
A coronation was also held for the 81st Queen Sugar, Jeanne-Avery Chauvin.
