WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP GUMBO COOKOFF
When: Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Bouligny Plaza, 102 W. Main St.
What: Family oriented food festival in historic downtown New Iberia. Gumbo Cookoff, Roux Run, Youth Gumbo Cookoff, Meanest Beans Competition, children’s activities, live music all weekend and more. Cajun/Creole food midday Saturday. Nothing but gumbo midday Sunday. Gumbo categories include amateur chicken and sausage, amateur seafood, amateur mélange, professional seafood, and professional non-seafood.
SHADOWS ARTS & CRAFTS FAIR
When: Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Shadows-on-the-Teche, 317 E. Main St.
What: A fun-filled day in the Shadows gardens. Vendors from around Louisiana will display and sell their original work. Walk the grounds shopping from over 100 vendors selling one of kind items, fine art, handcrafted items, furniture, and much more. You can also purchase food, desserts, and beverages.

LOREAUVILLE AT DELCAMBRE
When: Friday, Oct. 11, 2024, 7 p.m.
Where: 601 West Main St., Delcambre
What: The winless Tigers head south to begin District 7-2A play on Friday, hoping to pick up the first W of the season on the road. Delcambre, coming off a 34-0 shutout win over Highland Baptist, will hope to pull off the upset at home.
