New Iberia’s newest and spookiest city parade is back as the New Iberia Halloween Parade plans to kick off this Saturday in downtown New Iberia. 

The parade kicks off at 4 p.m. in front of New Iberia City Hall, where the fountain in the civic center will be turned black in celebration of the Halloween festivities. 

Following that, the parade kicks off at the usual route and runs through Main Street where those wishing to attend can park a chair along either side of Main Street. 

A unique parade for Acadiana, the Halloween Parade decorates the floats and walkers in ghoulish attire instead of the usual Mardi Gras or Christmas decorations associated with other parades. 

It’s not surprising to see the Ghosbusters or other famous movie favorites at the event, and dressing up is encouraged for all attending. 

Following the parade, a trunk or treat will be held at Bouligny Plaza for youngsters to enjoy following the event.
