IPAC Shelter Pets of the Week – Lock, Shock, Barrell and Sally

Published 11:28 am Friday, October 25, 2024

Tuesday, October 29, is National Cat Day, and Iberia Parish Animal Control will be celebrating the entire week with lowered feline adoption fees of $35.

The shelter needs help finding short-term foster homes for young kittens until they’re old enough to be spayed/neutered (around 8-10 weeks). IPAC will provide for the kittens’ financial needs while you enjoy a cuddly, temporary roommate.

Lock, Shock, Barrell and Sally are 5-to-6 week-old kittens that IPAC manager Amanda Istre picked out for the Shelter Pets of the Week segment. These adorable kittens need a foster home.

The shelter has lots of young cats available for adoption and “working cats” free to a good home. The latter are semi-feral to feral cats that only need food, water and a place to hunt.

Binx, Diva and Mickey are the other Shelter Pets of the Week.

Binx is a three-year-old black domestic short-hair, who Istre says is “sweet as can be” and loves spending time with his cat toy.

Diva, a three-month-old medium-hair, gets along well with other cats and even dogs. “She loves to snuggle on your shoulder,” Istre said.

Also for those who prefer affectionate cats, the shelter invites you to come meet Mickey, a five-month-old white and gray tabby who Istre said is “a true love bug.”

Interested in adopting or fostering a cat or dog? Please call or visit the shelter on weekdays from 12 PM to 3 PM to set up a meet and greet: 3373646311. IPAC is located at 2017 Seaway Access Road in New Iberia
