ANCIENT TREE BIKE HIKE
When: Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Where: Iberia Parish Library Main Branch, 445 E. Main St.
What: Local horticulturalist Jim Foret will take participants on a bike tour to visit the ancient oaks in our area and discover their rich history. Riders will meet at the Main Library. Registration is required to attend. Children must be accompanied by an adult and helmets are required for ages 17 and younger.
NEW IBERIA HOLIDAY VENDOR & CRAFT EVENT
When: Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: New Iberia City Park, 300 Parkview Drive
What: Many home businesses, arts and crafts booths, lots of delicious food trucks, a coffee truck, snow cone truck, milkshake truck and more! Santa and the Grinch will be there for picture taking. There will be face painting, princesses, hands-on reptiles, plush pet adoption booth, learning activities on how to care for pets and other fun activities. This event supports the New Iberia recreation department.
DAILY IBERIAN GAME OF THE WEEK
HOUMA CHRISTIAN AT CATHOLIC HIGH
When: Friday, Nov. 8, 2024, 7 p.m.
Where: Catholic High School, 1301 Delasalle Drive
What: The Panthers have already claimed another District 7-2A title, but Friday’s game will be one final test before the playoffs begin next week. Currently, Catholic High is the No. 7 team in Select Division III, good enough to earn a first-round bye and a home game in the second round, but they’ll need to handle Houma Christian first.
