This week was a historic one for Aggreko’s Iberia Parish campus as the organization celebrated a ribbon cutting of the expansion and renovation project of its central operations building.
The entire staff of the campus was on-site at the building Tuesday along with heads of the organization to mark the occasion, which celebrated months of work to renovate the building with the help of the Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce.
Vice-president of Customer Experience James Hoogendoorn said work on the building had been taking place since July to update the central operations building.
“If you walked in the building you used to see what we called Frankenstein walls, wallpaper coming off so we had to staple it back off,” Hoogendoorn said. “We said that we needed to do a few things to support our people, there’s still a few things we have to do but it looks great.”
During that time period, employees who worked in the office moved across the street to the other Aggreko building, which Hoogeendoorn said had unintentional positive effects.
“We really want to thank the team across the street who took us in and made room for us,” he said. “I really loved the team interaction so much that we decided to have a continuing rotation of people in there so we can have more team interaction.”
The project marked another investment for Aggreko’s Iberia Parish campus, which has been a key location in the company’s North America activities.
“New Iberia has always been a really special place for Aggreko,” Hoogendoorn said. “It’s one of the key locations. It’s always been a part of our advancement, working through all the different support structures that every service center in North America relies on.
“It shows a commitment to this campus and this group of people for many years to come.”
