The Iberia Cultural Resources Association is gearing up for the Christmas season as it once again brings orchestral music to New Iberia.

“Sounds of the Season” is a free event that invites local residents to experience holiday music with the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra, who come to St. Peter’s Catholic Church annually to present professional orchestral music playing classics that the whole family can enjoy.

This year’s Sounds of the Season takes place at St. Peter’s Catholic Church on Dec. 1. Music lovers of all ages will be able to attend the event in downtown New Iberia completely free of charge thanks to the patrons of the ICRA who make the event possible.

Featuring classic Christmas music as well as classical selections, the orchestra always provides a diverse selection of music each year to inaugurate the holiday season.

The ICRA puts on other seasonal concerts each year in New Iberia, which include the Stars and Stripes concert for veterans, the Symphony Sunday in the Park for springtime.

The organization also puts on the Beneath the Balconies event, which brings music to Main Street in New Iberia and highlights local bands as well as Iberia Performing Arts League productions.
