It is with heavy hearts that the family of Vicki Landry Martin, age 70, of Delcambre, Louisiana, announces her passing on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at Abbeville General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Vicki was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched all who knew her. An avid reader, Vicki had an insatiable curiosity and loved exploring the pages of any book she could find. She found joy in crossword puzzles, cross stitching, and crafting, as well as relaxing with her favorite TV shows, particularly game shows. Above all, she cherished her family, especially her grandsons, who were her pride and joy. She adored spoiling them.
Vicki leaves behind her beloved husband of 52 years, Donald Martin; her son, Travis Martin (Kourie); her cherished grandsons, Talen Martin and Preston Martin; her brothers, Dana Landry (Irene), Kevin Landry, and Wendell Landry (Tara); and her nephews, Spencer Landry and Rhett Landry; her favorite niece, Jamie Lou Saunier (T.J); special family friend Tonia LeBlanc; and Jenee Creighton, whom Vicki loved as if she were a daughter.
She is reunited in eternal rest with her son, Bryson Martin; her parents, Preston Landry and Vergie Guidry Landry; her siblings, Kermit Landry and Rockell Landry; and other loved ones who preceded her.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Vicki’s life on Monday, December 2, 2024, at Evangeline Funeral Home of Delcambre. Visitation will begin at 8:30 AM and continue until 12:45 PM, with the Men’s Rosary Group leading a rosary at 11:00 AM. A funeral service officiated by Fr. Andrew Schumacher, Pastor of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, will follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Vicki will be laid to rest at Migues Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Wendell Landry, Kevin Landry, Spencer Landry, Robert Williford, Mark Voisin, T.J. Saunier. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons, Talen and Preston Martin.
Vicki’s family extends their gratitude to all who have offered prayers, love, and support during this difficult time. Her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
