The New Iberia Garden Club has chosen the home of Goldie Breaux, who resides at 2609 W. Main St. in Jeanerette, as the Garden of the Month for the month of December. Her gardens are ready for the holidays. Festive decor for the season of Christmas surrounds her home.

The beauty of her front porch area welcomes friends and family with greenery and cedar branches in her flower pots, along with lanterns, large red Poinsettias, a beautiful wreath on the front door entrance and Christmas pillows on her rocking chairs.

Surrounding her porch are Variegated Ginger, Hydrangeas, White Gaura, White Plumbago, Ribbon Fern, Curcumas, Caladiums and Vinca.

The New Iberia Garden Club is a member of the Louisiana Garden Club Federation Inc. District III, National Garden Clubs, Inc., and Deep South Garden Clubs, Inc.

Horticulture Hints: Your flowerbeds should be cleaned and ready for planting in the early Spring. Make  or extend beds before the end of the season.  Add to your compost. Get ready and prepare to plant  your roses, shrubs and trees in January.
