May Beatrice Louise Dugas, originally from Abbeville, passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on Tuesday, December 10th. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date to honor her life.

May, as she was affectionately known, had a passion for golfing and was an enthusiastic reader. In her younger years, she worked at Laperouse Abstract, where she developed lasting friendships and honed her professional skills. Her greatest joy, however, came from the time spent with her children and grandchildren, creating cherished memories.

She is survived by her four children: Leslie Vincent (Karl), Dr. Randy Dugas, Don Dugas (Carla), and Simone St. Upery (Andre), all of whom live in New Iberia. May was blessed with eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her beloved brother, Rayward Landry (Joyce).

May was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 67 years, Felix Joseph Dugas, as well as her parents, Leoday Landry and Ethel Breaux Landry of Abbeville. She was also preceded by her sisters, Margie Broussard and Wanda Weidemann, and her brother, Wardray Landry.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Audubon Hospice, Azalea Estates, and her dedicated caregivers: Brittany Bernard, Helen Jackson, Jakayra Fontenot, Crystal Richard, and Linda Potier, for their compassionate support during her final days.
