Suzanne Pole Allain, 94, of Coppell, Texas, peacefully passed away in her home surrounded by family on December 12, 2024.  Suzanne was a native and resident for most of her life of Jeanerette, Louisiana.  She was born on December 16, 1929 to Walter Alfred Pole and May Moresi Pole.  She graduated from Jeanerette Senior High School and attended University of Southwestern Louisiana.  In 1951, she married Joseph Bryan Allain and together they raised five children.

Suzanne, lovingly known as “Meme” to her family and friends, was a homemaker and active in many civic and social organizations.  She was a member of St. John The Evangelist Parish in Jeanerette, LA, and served on the Alter Society and the Adoration Group.  She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Entre Nous Social Club, Catholic Daughters of America, and served on the Jeanerette Museum Board.

Suzanne lived a long and fulfilling life rooted in faith, family, and community.  She was a kind and generous wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, a friend to all and always quick with a smile for everyone she met.  She loved gardening, reading, going to the movies, and hosting family gatherings.  Many cherished memories were made with family and friends at the Allain’s Cypermort Point camp and Adeline swimming pool.

She is survived by her two sons, Randall John Allain (Natalie) of Mandeville, LA  and John Charles Allain of Homestead FL; daughters-in-law, Christena Allain of Coppell, TX., Lisa Allain of Jeanerette, LA.; eleven grandchildren, Ann Cook (Larry), Laura Gautreaux (Eric), Ellen Bodin (Jonathan) all of Baton Rouge, LA., Gina Allain of Los Angeles, CA., Joseph Allain of Muenster, TX., James Allain (Angela) of Coppell, TX., Jeffery Allain of Coppell, TX., Sarah Feiler (Daniel) of Houston, TX., Grant Allain (Elise) of Houston, TX., Andrew Allain (Tara) of Broussard, LA., Victor Allain (Lauren) of New Iberia, LA., and step grandchildren Braeden Gary of Lafayette, LA., and Hillary Trahan (David) of Youngsville, LA., as well as thirteen great grandchildren.

She asked that each grandchild and great-grandchild place a red rose, her favorite flower, near her in remembrance.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph Bryan Allain; her daughter, Virginia Sue Allain of Baton Rouge, LA.; her sons, Bryan Michael Allain of Coppell, TX. and David Joseph Allain of Jeanerette, LA.; her granddaughter, Marie Allain; her parents, Walter Alfred Pole and May Moresi Pole of Jeanerette, LA.; her sister, Mary Charlotte Pole and brother, Walter Alfred Pole, Jr.

Serving as Pallbearers will be her grandsons Joseph Allain, James Allain, Andrew Allain, Jeffery Allain, Grant Allain and Victor Allain.

A special thanks and appreciation to the many caregivers that cared for her in her final years and to her daughter, Virginia, and her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Tena, for creating a loving place for Meme to reside.

In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made on her behalf to the Jeanerette Museum or the ALS Association.
