PENGUIN AND SNOWMAN POPPERS
When: Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025, 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Where: Iberia Parish Library Lydia Branch, 4800 Freyou Road
What: Winter-themed DIY fun for ages 8-10. Take foam cups and make them look like penguins and snowmen! Then, place pompoms inside and turn them into fun poppers!
SHADOWS’ LECTURE ON BAYOU TECHE
When: Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Where: Shadows-on-the-Teche Visitor Center, 317 E. Main St.
What: Dr. Shane Bernard, author of Teche: A History of Louisiana’s Most Famous Bayou will discuss the environmental history of the Bayou Teche, the vital waterway that connects New Iberia to the world. The free program will be followed by a light reception and book signing by the author.
TECHE AREA FARMERS MARKET
When: Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025, 7 a.m. to noon
Where: Bouligny Plaza, 102 W. Main St.
What: Experience a harvest of delicious homegrown produce and home-made products by area farmers, artists and crafters. Also included are hand-made cypress yard objects, home-made bread and fresh baked goods, ceramics, honey, jellies, jams, herbs, candies, handcrafted wooden bowls and utensils, birdhouses, garden benches and much more.
