Dr. Patricia Broussard Davis

Dr. Patricia Broussard Davis, EdD. of Birmingham, AL passed away on 1/7/25.

She was born in New Iberia, LA on 6/17/1952. Pat was the oldest of 11 children born to Mr. & Mrs. Frank Broussard. She graduated from New Iberia Sr. High in 1970 and studied Biology at USL and Southern University earning a Bachelor’s degree at the University of Alabama in Birmingham as well as a Master’s. She furthered her education obtaining her doctorate at UAB in Education.

She married her college sweetheart Douglas Davis of Crowley, LA in August 1971 and has 5 children.

‘Mrs. P. Davis’, as she was called by students, worked for the Bham Dept. of Education for 41 years. First, at A.H. Parker High school as a biology teacher and a science department head, then as a STEM Curriculum Guide for all schools grades 9-12 until her retirement in 2021.

She was a lifelong catholic, who attended St. Edward Catholic Church growing up and Holy Family Catholic Church in Ensley, AL with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Douglas Davis; her children Carmela (NY), Brian (AL), Alan (AL), Doug Jr. (AL) and Erynne Kellum (Austin – TN); her grandchildren Evangeline, Elijah, Kennedy Grace, Emma and one on the way; her sisters Shirley (TX), Catherine (LA), Barbara (LA), Jacqueline (LA) and Pamela (Kevin – AL); sister in law Cassandra (LA) and a host of nieces, nephews & cousins.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, 1/18/2025, at Holy Family Church, 1910 19th St-Ensley, Birmingham, AL 35218
