Our beloved sister, sister-in-law, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Annette Marie Auzenne left this world to be with our Lord on October 22, 2024 after losing her valiant battle with Cancer. She was 69 years old.

Annette was born on May 27, 1956 in Opelousas, LA to Joseph Clarence and Marie Ozel Biagas Auzenne. She was the eldest of three children.

She was a 1974 graduate of Leonville High School and furthered her education at T.H. Harris in Data Management. She also attended the Academy of Art University where she studied Photography.

Annette moved westward to California and settled in the Sierra Madre area where she was employed in outside sales as a Print Production Specialist working in the government, education and medical fields.  She again relocated for work to San Antonio and then Lewisville, TX until she retired in New Iberia, LA in 2022 to be closer to her family.

Annette enjoyed traveling and was fortunate to visit such beautiful and exciting places like Canada, Caracas, Venezuela, Chicago, Moscow, Russia, New York, and Paris, France.  As well as exploring new places, Annette was fascinated with photography and was able to study at two universities in California.  She loved biking and hiking on guided tours, and gathering with friends.  She had a love for the Arts and could often be found in a museum perusing the exhibits of her favorite artist, catching a local play or Broadway show.  After retiring, she was able to spend more time quilting, knitting and crocheting.

Annette is survived by her son Bryan Anthony Boutte of Baton Rouge, LA, grandchildren Za’Khyri AuBriel Boutte and Zantlon Jortez Boutte of Jennings, LA,  a brother, Jerome (Gisele) Auzenne, Sr. of Katy, TX, a niece, Ainsley Auzenne of New Orleans, LA, a nephew, Jerome (Quawntel) Auzenne, Jr. and one great nephew, Cruz Martin Auzenne of Youngsville, LA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Clarence and Marie Ozel Biagas Auzenne and her sister, Karen Theresa Auzenne Nelson.

Annette had a caring soul, a strong faith and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

The average individual lives 27,375 days if they’re lucky.  You may think that doesn’t seem like a lot of time, but how many days will you really remember in a lifetime?  I was fortunate to have lived a full life filled with memorable days. Things can change in a day or a moment. That which is missing becomes crystal clear.  A rich and full life isn’t a series of forgotten days.  Life isn’t designed to be lived later so if you are not happy, make a change, take a chance, shift gears because later is not guaranteed. Life is meant to be lived now and not later. Enjoy everything, a laugh, a smile, a hug, a kiss, the sound of birds singing, the stars in the sky on a clear summer’s night, the sound of a waterfall, a long walk with the wind blowing in your face, a song, a dance, a taste and a smell. Collect these moments every day so things won’t blur.  These are the moments when you find yourself and you will remember. I have learned how to love, how to live, how to be in the world, of the world and not just stand and watch.
