Why is the Teche Area important to you?

The Bayou Teche area, particularly New Iberia, holds significant importance to me because it is where I grew up, where I formed my earliest memories, and where I learned the values that have shaped who I am today. It is the place that I call home. My entire family is from here, and we’ve built our lives and businesses together in this community. The connections and memories I have made in this area are invaluable, and being able to work alongside my family in our family business (KOMADE Coffee & Pastries) here only strengthens my bond to this place.

 What do you do for fun?

For fun, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My fiancé and I are foodies, so we enjoy checking out new restaurants. When I want to do something more low-key, I do enjoy watching movies and TV shows.

 What are your hobbies?

I LOVE to read! Even though I spend majority of my days reading for work, there is nothing better than getting lost in a good book. When I am not reading, I enjoy listening to podcasts, thrift shopping and trying out new recipes.

 Who are your role models?

My parents, hands down! They’ve shown me what true perseverance and determination look like. Despite having me at a young age, which could have easily been seen as a challenge, they never gave up on their dreams and worked hard to build a future for our family. They taught me the importance of a strong work ethic and staying driven even when things get tough. My parents also embody kindness and responsibility in everything that they do.

 What are some of your plans or goals?

I have lots of goals planned for me over the next year! We have a ton of fun ideas, activities and events planned for KOMADE that we can’t wait to share with the community. I am also a part of Leadership Iberia where our Class has already discussed different ways we can contribute to our community and the Iberia Parish area.

 Professionally, I have a few certifications and Continuing Legal Education courses I plan on taking which will allow me to better assist our clients. I am also excited to be a part of the expansion of AMO Title to the New Iberia area. This expansion will allow for a more accessible, convenient, and enhanced experience for our growing client base.

I am extremely honored to be chosen as 20 under 40 Honoree! I cannot thank everyone in my life enough who supports, encourages and inspires me every day.
