Why is the Teche Area important to you?
New Iberia has always been home. I was born here, I left for college. First to New Orleans and then to Mississippi. In college, I had the opportunity to travel many places around the country. It also gave me opportunities for jobs and careers after school in other areas, but none of them could compare to home. Our food, our people, our culture, our community here is far better than anywhere else I’ve had the chance to visit. So I wanted to come back do good here because this is where I’m happy.

For fun, I hang out with family, friends, and spiritual family. I have a 3 year old and a husband of 5 years. I love spending time with them.
What are your hobbies?
I like to play golf. I played golf in college and coached for a year in graduate school. Giving golf lessons is something I love to do. Golf is a game you can play for the rest of your life. Music is also a hobby. I like to play guitar.
Who are your role models?
In business, my dad is my role model. He’s taught me everything I know about business, money management, and putting your all into everything you do. In life, my mom is my role model. I hope I’m half as good a mom she has been to me and my brother. She’s my hero. She’s also an amazing Granny to my son.

In business, my goal is to grow the business of A & A Appliance Center and possibly expanding in future years.
Personally, I’d like to start giving golf lessons to kids in our area, and giving back to the community in any way I can.
Is there anything else you would like to say?
My husband Christopher has been my biggest supporter. He always supports my dreams goals, and projects. I wouldn’t be able to do anything I do without him. I’m honored to be chosen for this award and I look forward to continuing to build our community.
