Why is the Teche Area important to you?
Rich in History and culture, I’m so fortunate to call the Teche Area my home. From bayous to islands, farmers markets to festivals, there is something for everyone in the area. Growing up in Iberia I was able to be part of an amazing 4-H community that shaped me into the person I am.
What do you do for fun?
I love to take my dog, Chester, on walks, kayaking when the weather is perfect, attending festivals around the state and learn about the history and industries of Iberia parish
What are your hobbies?
I’m involved with Louisiana Tech Block and Bridle, ag ambassador, and clay shooting team
Who are your role models?
Temple Grandin because despite her disability and struggles in life, she was about to use her voice and skills to better the agricultural industries. She is an American scientist, inventor, and autism spokesperson who designs humane livestock facilities.
What are some of your plans or goals?
I plan on graduating in March of 2026 with a degree in agricultural business with a minor in plant science. After graduation I would like to work with the USDA to advocate agriculture to the next generation and those who don’t fully understand the effect of agriculture in today’s world.
