Ronald J. Ardeneaux Sr. passed away peacefully at the age of 81 with his family by his side during the early evening hours of Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Legacy of Franklin Nursing Center.
Ronald was a native and lifelong resident of Franklin and was one of six children born to the late Cornelius Ardeneaux Sr. and the late Della Lancon Ardeneaux. He married the love of his life, the former Claudette Benoit, on September 19, 1964. Of this union Ronald and Claudette were blessed with two children, Cindy and Ronald Jr. He worked the majority of his adult life in the Oil and Gas Industry, retiring as a Process Operator.
A man’s man in every respect, Ronald was an imposing figure who stood broad and tall. But behind that exterior was a loving and devoted family man who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. Some of his favorite pastimes were time spent outdoors hunting and fishing as well as traveling. However, nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his family whom he fiercely loved. He worked hard to provide the very best in life for his family. He will be missed beyond measure but will certainly be remembered with a smile.
Those he leaves to cherish his memory include his wife of 60 years, Claudette B. Ardeneaux; his daughter and son-in-law, Cindy Ardeneaux Burke and Scott Burke; his son and daughter-in-law, Ronald “Ronnie” Ardeneaux Jr. and Kristen Greene Ardeneaux; his beloved grandchildren, Trent Burke and his wife Stacie, Megan Eslinger and her husband Justin, Kimberly Fuselier and her husband Cameron, and Jake Burke; and his precious great grandchildren, Kylie, Caleb, Carson, Mason, Noah, Brantley, and Korbin. Ronald is also survived by his two sisters, Rose Simoneaux and Linda Hebert and her husband Earl “Butch”; his brother, Willie Ardeneaux; his sister-in-law, Barbara “Ann” Ardeneaux; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his brothers, Daniel Ardeneaux and Cornelius Ardeneaux Jr.; his brother-in-law, Merlin Simoneaux; and two nieces, Mary Ann Simoneaux and Kathy Williams.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 9th, at the Church of the Assumption in Franklin during a 1:30 PM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Father Joel Faulk will be the Celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services. The family requests visiting hours be observed Wednesday at the church from 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM, at which time the Holy Rosary will be prayed.
The family extends their sincerest heartfelt gratitude to the staffs of Legacy of Franklin Nursing Center and ACG Hospice. The love and compassion given to Ronald in his time of need is proof that there are angels on Earth and it will never be forgotten.
