BLACKOUT POETRY (AGES 10-12)

Where: Iberia Parish Library Main Branch, 445 E. Main St.

What: April is National Poetry Month, a great time to learn about the fascinating art form of blackout poetry, and even create your own. Blackout poetry involves taking an existing piece of written text from a book, newspaper, or magazine and redacting words to create your own poetry. By using a permanent marker to cover up certain words or images, you can rearrange or focus on specific words to craft a whole new meaning from the original text.
