A memorial service celebrating the life of Gladys Camille LeCamus Riley, 85, will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, November 9, 2017, at Evangeline Funeral Home. Deacon Steve VanCleve will officiate. Interment will be held privately at a late date.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 p.m. until time of services, with the Rosary being recited at 6 p.m.

Gladys was born September 21, 1932, in Catahoula to the late Johnny and Ella Curry Camille, and passed away Sunday, November 5, 2017, at her residence, surrounded by her family. She was 85.

Gladys was a homemaker devoted to the love and care of her family. Her most precious moments were those spent with her family no matter the occasion. She was known for her baking abilities and made the best Amish bread, Sock it to Me cakes and pralines. Some of her favorite pastimes included ironing clothes for her family, playing bingo and taking trips to the casino. These memories will be cherished by all who knew and loved her and she will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her children Janelle LeCamus Gonsoulin and husband, Benny, Dawn Bush and Marty LeCamus and wife, Angela; her grandchildren Storie, Braedon and Brandt Gonsoulin and wife, Stephanie, Devin Lewis and husband, David, and Martie and Kolin LeCamus; her granddaughters-in-law Andrea “AJ” Menard and Ashley DeRouen; her great-grandchildren Meitha Gonsoulin, John Derek Derouen, Drake and Dayton Lewis, Dylan, Ryan and Tristan Menard, Ella Champagne and Olivia Gonsoulin; and her brother Richard Camille and wife, Mary.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Kurt James LeCamus; her grandsons Daniel Menard and Derek Bush; and a brother Louis B. Camille.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of Bridgeway Hospice, especially Erin, Q and Stephanie for the care and compassion shown to our dear mother.
