Chantel Ransonet Rabeaux

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Chantel Ransonet Rabeaux, 47, who passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017, in New Iberia.

A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Wednesday.

Pastor Wanda Rousse will officiate. Entombment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia.

A lifelong resident of New Iberia, Chantel Christine Ransonet Rabeaux was born on June 11, 1970, and was a 1989 graduate of New Iberia Senior High. She worked as a phlebotomist and when she was younger, she was in dancing for 12 years. She enjoyed reading and photography, but her greatest joy was her two daughters. Chantel was a loving mother, daughter, sister and friend, and she will be deeply missed.

Chantel is survived by daughters Kirsten Bourque and her life partner Jodie Richard of Indiana and Ashton Rabeaux and fiance’ Chris Collins of New Iberia; parents, Wanita and Clifford Ransonet; brother Shane Ransonet and wife, Christine; nieces Kali’ and Destini’ Ransonet; nephew Landen Ransonet; and stepmother Judy Herring, all of New Iberia; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her biological father, Lanny Herring; maternal grandparents, Aldez and Anna Mae Migues; paternal grandparents, Irvin and Alida Ransonet; godmother Janice Herring; and her former father-in-law Willie Rabeaux.

Pallbearers will be Brad Prioux, Gregory Migues, Kasey Thibodeaux, Gerald “Jay” Ransonet Jr., Christopher Veazey and Dwight Ransonet.

Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Ransonet, Chris Collins and Tommy Ransonet Jr.
