Brenda Darby Breaux

Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Johnny Breaux, the former Brenda Darby, 68, at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Mark Derise and Deacon Russell Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and resume on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at 10 a.m. until the service time. A Rosary will be prayed in the funeral home by Deacon Russell Hayes at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

A native and former resident of New Iberia and a current resident of Youngsville, Mrs. Breaux passed away on Monday, December 18, 2017, at 9:30 a.m. She was employed at Catholic High School in New Iberia as the secretary for 35 years. Along with her husband they were members of the Cajun French Music Association and enjoyed Cajun dancing. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter Sheree G. Breaux; her son Shane P. Breaux and his wife, Tara; her grandchildren Darby L. Breaux, Lillian M. Breaux and Elijah P. Breaux all of Youngsville; her brother Larry Darby and his wife, Lynn, of Lafayette; her niece Joan Darby Wallace and her husband, Brandon, of Lafayette; her nephew Paul Darby and his wife, Elizabeth, of Crofton, Maryland; her great-nieces Avery Wallace of Lafayette and Caroline Darby of Crofton, Maryland; and her great-nephew Riley Wallace of Lafayette.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Joseph Breaux; her parents, Harold Darby and Eula Judice Darby; and her grandchild Rebekah Grace Breaux.

Pallbearers will be Shane Breaux, Larry Darby, Bob Travasos, Scotty Pharr, Joe Judice and Casey Pellerin.

Honorary pallbearer will be Elijah P. Breaux.
