The ESA Lady Falcons and the Catholic High Lady Panthers pulled down the Teche Area’s highest seeds as the Louisiana High School Athletic Association released the prep girls’ soccer playoff brackets Tuesday.
ESA is the third seed in Division IV while district rival Catholic High School is the fifth seed in the division.
Both teams get first-round byes and will play host to second round games as the playoffs wind towards the state championships set for Feb. 21-23 at ULL Ragin’ Cajun Soccer Field in Lafayette.
In Division III, St. Martinville Senior High finished as the ninth seed and will play host to a first round game while Erath finished as the 21st seed and will travel in the first round.
All first round games must be played by Friday.
Neither Division I New Iberia Senior High (31st seed) nor Division II Westgate (30th seed) qualified for the playoffs. Only the top 24 teams in each Division in the power rankings made the postseason.
