Boy, 4, hit by car on La. 14; dies

The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting Sunday afternoon in New Iberia near the intersection of Anderson and Shot streets. 

IPSO spokesman Maj. Wendell Raborn said the shooting occurred around 1:30 p.m. Upon arrival at the scene, deputies found two men who suffered minor gunshot wounds. They were both taken for treatment to Lafayette General Hospital. 

Raborn said it is believed both men were shot by an unknown assailant. However, the victims were unwilling to give information about the shooter. 

The shooting is being investigated by the IPSO.
