Marlene was a Registered Nurse in New Iberia for 30 years, and worked at Iberia Medical Center and Dauterive Hospital. During those years, she selflessly took the greatest of care of many patients. Outside of her career, Marlene enjoyed attending the Renaissance Festival here in Louisiana and in Texas. She and her best friend and coworker, Kim, brought the camper and attended every year together, enjoying the company of the many festival goers. Most will remember Marlene for her smile that would light up a room, and for her kind and generous heart. If you were with her you were guaranteed to have a laugh or two. She was just that kind of person who loved to have a great time and live each day to its fullest. Her family was her pride and joy and she devoted her life to them as well. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will always live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her children, Heather Bourque and husband Kevin, and Dustin Carriere and wife DeeDee; her step-daughter, Jessie Ransonet; her grandsons Austin Stelly and Kagen Bourque; her mother, Marguerite Pousson Gros; her sister, Renee’ Smith and husband Wayne; her brother, Michael Robideaux and wife Angie; a niece and nephew, Sonya Courville and Travis Meche; her friend Cliff Ellender; and her best friend and “partner-in- crime,” Kim Dieudonne.
Along with her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Manuel; her step-daughter, Brittany Manuel; her brother, Harry L. Robideaux Jr., and a dear friend, Bobbie Mouton.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dustin Carriere, Austin Stelly, Kagen Bourque, Cliff Ellender, Lucas Plauche’, Bill Dieudonne and Travis Meche.
