The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating two shootings that occurred within minutes of each other Saturday evening. 

IPSO spokesman Maj. Wendell Raborn said deputies responded to a reported shooting at 6:44 p.m. on the 500 block of Lombard Street, where they located a single male victim with a gunshot to the abdomen. Raborn said the victim was taken to a Lafayette hospital. 

While investigating, deputies heard multiple gunshots nearby and located bullet casings in the 500 block of Johnston Street. A male later arrived at Iberia Medical Center with multiple gunshot wounds, Raborn said. 

Investigators are asking for anyone with information about these shootings to either call the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office at 369-3711 or Iberia Crime Stoppers at 364-TIPS.
