LOREAUVILLE — A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Eliza “Zeze” Segura, age 99, will be held at 1 a.m. on Monday, March 5, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Loreauville with Father Paul Onugebe officiating the mass. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. 

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. by the Men’s Rosary Group. Visitation will resume on Monday, March 5, 2018, from 8 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m.

A native and resident of Loreauville, Mrs. Zeze went home to be with the Lord Jesus at 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2018, at her residence. She was the proud wife of a farmer and loved to work in the fields. She was known for her green thumb and had a beautiful flower garden.  Some of her hobbies included playing cards, camping, fishing and traveling. She was very talented at drawing and had a true gift for captivating the natural beauty of birds. She lived a proud 99 years and made many beautiful memories with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her daughter Reva Martin of Loreauville, her daughter Mary Linda Courts of Loreauville; sons Peter Segura of Loreauville and Delton Segura of Lafayette;  her sisters Beatrice Prosper of Broussard, Lucie Watterson and Carmlite Hebert both of Port Arthur, Texas.; and  her brother Russell Prados of Kaplan, nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Mr. Whitney Segura; her children Whitney Segura Jr. and Louella Boutte; her grand children Bridget Henson, Lindsey Segura and Patrick Courts; her parents Honore Prados Sr. and Marie Blanchard Prados, her brothers Bernie Prados and Honore Prados Jr. 

Upholding the honor of pallbearers will be Delton Segura, Peter Segura, Joshua Boutte, Travis Martin, Troy Prosper and Nathan Boutte.  The honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren, her great grandchildren, her great great grandchildren, her nephews and her brother.  

The family would like to sincerely thank all those who cared for Zeze such as Hospice, her family, and her Doctors at Iberia Medical Center. Also very grateful for years of loving care from the staff at Dr. Tynes Mixon’s office.
