A Home-going Celebration will be held for Mrs. Michelle J. Blaise, 60, the former Michelle Jefferson, at 11 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2018, at Fletcher Funeral Home, with Minister Scott Thomas officiating.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 7 a.m. until time of service.

A resident of New Iberia, she passed away at 11:22 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018, at her residence.

Michelle accepted Christ as her Savior and was a member of Teche United Church of Christ in Morbrihan.

She leaves in God’s care her husband, Robert Blaise Sr., of New Iberia; one daughter Sharee Blaise-McConnell (Rodger) of Monroe; one son Robert Blaise Jr. of New Iberia; two sisters Elizabeth Jefferson of Lake Charles and Linda Guilliam of St. Martinville; ten brothers Raymond Jefferson (Evelyn) of New Iberia, Kevin Jefferson (Karen) of Albany Georgia, Edward Fontenette (Katherine) of Alexandria, Terrell Jefferson and Michael Jefferson (Katherine) of New Iberia, Milton Guilliam Jr. (Linda) of Ocoee, Florida, Hilton Guilliam (Marie) of Longwood, Florida, Jonathan Guilliam (Maritza) of Orlando, Florida, Ronald Guilliam of St. Martinville and Jeffery Guilliam of Dallas, Texas; five grandchildren Kaylynn Blaise-McConnell, Darique Ledet, Taylar McConnell, Taylan McConnell and Madison Simon; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton Guilliam Sr. and Louetta Mae Jefferson; one grandchild Markell Gregoire; two sisters – one named Lois Guilliam; maternal grandparents, Paul Jefferson and Mattie Sparrow Johnson; paternal grandparents, Abraham Guilliam and Elvina Menard; two aunts Mattie Lee Levine and Brenda Faye Johnson; and two uncles Russell Fontenette Sr. and Charles Johnson Sr.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made payable to St. Jude Hospital in memory of Markell Gregoire.
