Juveniles face charges after being stopped by SMPSO

BAYOU VISTA — Three juveniles, two from Patterson and one from Franklin, were arrested Friday morning in Bayou Vista.
According to a prepared statement, St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were patrolling the area of Venus Street and Louisiana 182 following a suspicious persons complaint possibly regarding a vehicle burglary early Friday morning.
While searching the area, deputies approached two juveniles who were riding bicycles without reflecting lights on Venus Street. One was a 15-year-old Patterson resident and the other was a 13-year-old Franklin resident.
Deputies also saw a third 14-year-old male juvenile from Patterson on the same street, according to the statement.
Upon attempting to make contact, the third juvenile fled on foot and ran through several residential yards. Deputies eventually made contact with the juvenile male at his residence.
The 15-year-old and 13-year old juveniles were arrested for curfew violation. The 14-year-old juvenile was arrested for curfew violation, resisting and criminal trespassing. All three were released into the custody of their guardians.
