FRANKLIN — A Mass of Christian burial for Harold “Neg” Louviere, 84, will be held at noon on Saturday, August 11, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 132 State Route 317, in Centerville with Fr. Salvino Primor as celebrant. Cremation will follow with burial at a later date.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of funeral mass at the church.
A native and resident of Franklin, Harold went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at 6:09 p.m. at Heart Hospital of Lafayette.
Mr. Louviere was a supervisor for Columbia Chemicals for the past 37 years. Neg was a member of the Knights of Columbus of Franklin, member of the Lions Club, Police Jury, former councilman and various elected positions of service. He was an avid dancer, enjoyed hunting, fishing and anything which were outdoors. He was also a Boston Red Socks fan and LSU sports fan. His greatest memories and enjoyable times were those spent with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of four years, JoAnn Bodin Brown Louviere; sons Shane Louviere and wife, Linda, of Abbeville, Race Louviere and wife, Cassandra, of Baldwin and Dirk Louviere and wife, Beckett, of Franklin; three daughters; stepson Carl Brown Jr. and wife, Arliah, of New Iberia; two stepdaughters Stacey Baudoin and husband, Darrell, of New Iberia and Valerie Mayer and husband, Curtis “Trei” III, of New Iberia; eleven grandchildren; and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Ann Caro Louviere; parents, George Louviere and Aline Louviere; brother Elton Louviere; and stepson Troy C. Brown.
Pallbearers will be Jerrod Louviere, Ryan Louviere, Eric Louviere, Malachi Louviere, Race Louviere and Dirk Louviere.
Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Brown Jr. and Curtis “Trei” Mayer III.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Jerrod Louviere, who was a grandson that was always there to help him when he needed assistance.
